REVIEW: REAL TECHNIQUES CORE COLLECTION

11:00 am

Hi guys!
Today's post is about the REAL TECHNIQUES CORE COLLECTION SET. This product has to be one of the most popular makeup products right now. 80% of girls that really like makeup and know their stuff have this product. Believe me, it is a craze out there!
Do I blame them? NO. Is the hype worth it? BIG YES!
I am a sucker for face brushes, especially duo fibre and kabukis. They just make all the difference.
Should have done this review a long time ago but, you know....

(PLEASE NOTE: THE PICTURES HERE SHOW A NEW SET, JUST OUT OF THE PACK, this particular one I bought for a friend, this review is based on my own brushes that I have been using for quite a while)

Let's get to the review

Now here is what the company says:

"Designed with pro makeup artist Samantha Chapman, Real Techniques brushes combine high-tech materials with innovative design to make creating a pixel-perfect look easier than ever:

The Synthetic bristles are ultra plush and smoother than the hair you'll find in other brushes. Since taklon is synthetic, it's 100% cruelty-free. The soft fibers help create a flawless, high-definition finish in any type of light – from sunlight to harsh indoor lighting."

In my own words, I would say this is high quality synthetic bristles! They are amazing! The bristles are soft and so fluffy, they make your cream/liquid products a dream to apply!

The handles look firm enough though they are quite light. another + is all the names of the brushes are written on it for reference.
Let me walk you through the contents..

The brush set contains, four brushes and one case:
detailer brush:
pointed foundation brush:
buffing brush:
contour brush:
panoramic brush case : is a 2-in-1 case + stand

THE BRUSHES

BUFFING BRUSH

Full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation. You can build your coverage from light to heavy. To be quite honest I have never used this brush for powder before, I always use it for liquid foundation. I use it in a semi stippling motion, stippling is beautiful but it kinds of takes time, so I just use this brush, to stipple, blend and buff at the same time. Works better for me that way. I haven't experienced any shedding with this brush, and it washes well. I have been using it for a while, and it hasn't failed me.

DETAILER BRUSH

Precision cut to effortlessly conceal problem areas; or, use with lipstick for long-lasting shape and definition. Yep! They got that right! the cut is very precise which makes it good for a lot of things. It is great for covering specific blemishes or scars, for cleaning up your brow with concealer, or for your lips, either for cleaning up, shaping or applying lip product! Great value!

                                                           CONTOUR BRUSH

Delicately applies highlighter to contour or create sheer, soft-focus finish. This brush is great for highlighting and contouring. Particularly blending concealer or foundation under the eye. Its rounded tip makes it easy to apply contour on the cheek. If you have a steady hand you can also use it to blend contour color around the nose, forget the size! I also use this to apply blush to the cheeks

                                                   FOUNDATION BRUSH

Use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage. This brush works just like your normal foundation brush, but because of the fibres, it works a little bit better. It is easier to blend. I am not a fan of these types of foundation brushes, I's rather use buffing, stippling or kabuki brushes, so I actually use this to blend out concealer. Because of its precise cut this is good for applying highlighter on the nose and placing bronzer on the upper cheek. There are no rules

VERDICT
I have nothing but positive things to say about this brush set. It is all it says it is. If you've heard about this, and you've been contemplating on buying, GO FOR IT! It will save you those embarrassing night pictures that show where your foundation starts and ends!! Trust me! If you do not want the entire set, you could also purchase the individual brushes.
